Executive Chef, Harley Smith
Chef Harley rose to fame using fresh, local seafood as the launch pad for dishes that bring
alive the spirit and flavors of the sea. At Seaglass he has designed a menu using
classic French culinary techniques, fresh New England seafood, and the best of
international flavors. It’s fair to say that Chef Harley spins ingredients into
unexpected, exceptionally flavorful combinations and focuses on delighting the
diner with beautiful presentations.
Chef Harley led the culinary team at Ten Center in Newburyport for nine years. He has been featured at New England Wine festivals including those at Nantucket and Wentworth by the Sea in seacoast New Hampshire. Chef Harley was invited to cook as part of a team at the exclusive James Beard House in New York City’s Greenwich Village, a performance space for visiting chefs named after the “Father of American Gastronomy,” James Beard. He was also chef for the prestigious Ryder Cup when the golf event was held in Boston.
Chef Harley is a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts and a native of the
seacoast area where he developed a passion for cooking while working in various
Portsmouth, New Hampshire restaurants. He has also worked at restaurants in Las Vegas, Nevada. He has been featured in numerous magazine publications including Taste of the Seacoast, North Shore Magazine & Merrimac Valley Magazine. He has also appeared on NECN’s TV Diner.
